New for 2024 - RFEC Membership

Why establish a Membership Club?

RFEC has been operating under the current ownership since we started over 30 years ago. We have developed from a field with 2 horses (and a caravan park!) into the Centre you see today. RFEC continues to be a small, family run business with a dedicated team of horses and humans. As we have grown and developed, we want to actively listen and respond to feedback; one being that certain ride times were massively oversubscribed. A large number of our clients have ridden regularly with us for many years, some since childhood, but it is foundational that we also continue to attract and cater for new riders too.

As a Riding Centre, passionate about promoting and inspiring our sport at Grassroots level, we want to continue to offer an educational environment with proactive learning, goals and progression for our riders. As well as an exceptional experience for leisure riders who wish to enjoy horses and riding in a relaxed, supportive community.

As a result, new for 2024, we have established a Membership scheme that is designed to:

  • establish an exclusive base for regular clients who wish to ride on a regular basis and give priority and reward these regular riders
  • develop a sense of community throughout our members and regular riders to join, learn and make friends surrounded by the horses we love most
  • build a stronger relationship with clients and recognise their abilities, so enabling us to consistently improve the experience we offer

The membership is designed to ensure our clients get the best possible value and customer care with special offers and priority bookings. In addition to the club benefits, for Members we also want to offer many social and educational events, including; lecture demos and stable management training for regular riders who want to develop their all-round horsemanship skills. We strongly believe, riding starts from the ground upwards and learning to handle, behave and understand horse care and stable management is just as improtant as your skills in the saddle. Being part of our membership club will allow us to cater to the requests, topics and interests of our regular riders consistently. We also want to utilise the brilliant facilities and outdoor spaces we have at RFEC by building a stronger sense of community with ideas such as a Community Garden for members and social events. We have so much we want to fit in to our calendar and offer to our riders, the Membership scheme will allow us the platform to cater speciffically to our regular riders and those who wish to get involved with additional events and activities.

How do I become a member?

As our Membership is brand new for 2024, we are currently offering this to our existing, regular riders. This will include riders on all Group and Private sessions (including Friday, Saturday, Sunday PM). If you currently ride in these sessions on a regular basis, we will be in touch at the earliest opportunity to introduce you to our Membership club.

*Sessions not included in our regular rider membership are; Open Group lessons, Beginner Courses and Private lessons during Tues-Thurs daytime (12pm-3.30pm).

Is there a joining fee?

There is a joining fee which is paid annually at a special introductory price of just £20 for the year (membership runs from 1st April - 31st March annually.)

As we do book in advance, 2024 membership will officially begin from Monday 1st April 2024 (our next available block of lessons).

The joining fee represents a commitment from you and assists with the administration costs involved with offering the scheme. The joining fee is non-refundable or transferable.

Please see our Booking Terms for further details

What if I want to cancel my Membership?

All Membership runs from 1st April - 31st March. Membership can only be cancelled by providing notice in writing (via email is acceptable). No verbal request to cancel membership will be accepted or processed. All Membership is paid annually and is non-refundable or transferable. If at any point, you do wish to rejoin or for more riders joining at any other point throughout the year, the joining fee will need to be paid in full.

Why is membership limited?

We only have a certain number of horses, arenas and coaches! We take great pride in the care and welfare of our horses for their health and happiness and strictly monitor the amount of exercise they are able to do on a daily basis, which is why the number of Members we can accept is strictly limited.

We will operate a proactive waiting list service which will be open to join all-year round. If a Member no longer wishes to use their regular riding slot (included in membership) they can choose to still enjoy all the other benefits of membership (training, social events etc.).

Do I have to ride every week or can I ride on an ad-hoc basis?

Our membership is designed for riders who wish to ride on a regular basis so we do encourage riders to attend on a weekly basis.

We do understand you will not be able to attend every, single week! As part of the membership you will be assigned your regular riding slot. Riders will be responsible for managing and booking your regular riding slot via the ECPro system; as a member you will see your slot as far as our schedule allows (typically  4/6 weeks in adance) and will book and cancel your lesson as usual (in all circumstances, our 48-hour cancellation policy applies). Lessons must be booked upto 14 days in advance to guarantee your regular riding slot. Any slots not booked upto 14 days in advance will be opened up to all other suitable riders to book.

Due to demand for regular riding slots and to utilise the benefits of the regular riding slot, if you are unable to attend your slot on a regular basis, we do reserve the right to remove this facility. We can offer an alternative 'Associate Membership' for members that choose to stop their regular riding slot but wish to enjoy all the other benefits of RFEC Membership.  For full terms and explanation, please see our Booking Terms

Can I change my regular riding slot?

When you become a member, you will choose a regular riding slot (at an appropriate level for your rider to be agreed with your coach). If there are the odd occassions where you would like to swap your slot for another, we will always do our best to accomodate your request. However, we cannot guarantee we will be able to offer an alternative, suitable slot due to availalbility and scheduling.

What riding options are there for Non-members?

We still have lots available to introduce new riders to horse riding and ad-hoc options for non-member riding 😊 Non-member riding times will be Tues-Thurs daytime (12pm-4pm) for Private lessons. We also have our 8-week beginner courses. All other availability will be released to all suitable riders (including non-members) upto 14 days in advance.
